Our Beers

All of our beers are made from local farm ingredients. Like all the great beer cultures of the world, we think of beer as food. Our hope is that when you drink our beers you have the same “mmmm” reaction as when you take a bite of fresh baked bread still warm from the oven.
Accordingly, we brew many traditional styles of ales and lagers, which have stood the test of time and are crisp, clear and refreshing to the palate. Our beer is brewed in small batches, is never filtered or pasteurized and contains no preservatives, additives or stabilizers.
We specialize in “sessionable beers” that have a moderate alcohol content (between 5% and 6%) and are therefore suitable for drinking over an extended period and for pairing with a light meal.
For Non-Beer Drinkers: We have two wines, a Rose of Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Sauvignon available by the glass. Additionally, we offer two hard ciders on tap from New England Cider Co.: Fresh Blend and Blueberry (ciders are naturally gluten-free!).
Non-Alcoholic Options: We have a variety of sodas and iced tea, and are now also offering a few non-alcoholic beers from Athletic: Upside Dawn Blonde Ale, Run Wild Session IPA, and Cerveza Light Lager.
Beers on Tap
Cans

Most beers on tap are available in 4-pack cans to-go. We also sell 32 oz growler bottles and will fill any short-necked or open topped growler with the beers we currently have on tap.

Kegs
Additionally, we now sell sixth barrel (5.2 gallon) kegs which pour approximately 56 12-ounce servings. For best quality pours, we also provide rented tap equipment including a CO2 canister, keg coupler and faucet. Please contact us at info@hopsonthehillbrewery.com for pricing and ordering request two weeks prior to keg pick up.

Our Story
Hops on the Hill is a 100% “farm to glass” brewery. All of our beers are made with hops and grains grown on our farm and other family run farms within 30 miles of our brewery. The brewery and tasting room reside in a tobacco drying barn and are surrounded by operating farmland where we grow hops, broadleaf tobacco, pumpkins and other crops.
Our mission is to use our great venue and beer to build and improve our community. We bring people together so they can taste and experience our local history and tradition, enjoy the beauty of our authentic farm environment, and pause to live life more simply and easily. We strive to honor and preserve the beauty of South Glastonbury for future generations.
Owner / Grower
Al Gondek’s family has owned and farmed this land since the 1950’s growing broadleaf tobacco and various other crops. He continues farming the land as his father did, now including hops. Al’s goal is to preserve the land and continue farming. Hops on the Hill Farm Brewery located on site in one of the old tobacco barns will carry on the farming tradition.
Celebrating Our 2-Year Anniversary! June 28th, 2021

Photo by Carrie Draghi for Glastonbury Lifestyle
We’re proud to be South Glastonbury’s family-owned farm brewery, and we can’t thank you all enough for supporting our vision as we continue to grow. We couldn’t do this without the community or our amazing team of employees. Cheers!
